About Black Squad

Clan & Community

A close-knit gaming community built from years of friendship, competition, shared experiences and a willingness to keep the dream alive.

Who We Are

Black Squad Clan & Community

Black Squad is a close-knit group of friends who, for the most part, started out as strangers brought together through gaming.

The community traces its roots back to around 2005 and has gone through several different names and stages over the years. While only a small number of members remain from the earliest days, the aim has always been to keep the community alive and continue building on what came before.

Black Squad has always tried to bring together a good mix of people. Some members play casually, some enjoy competitive gaming, some run servers or work with code and technology, and others simply enjoy being part of the community.

What matters most is not how somebody plays, but whether they contribute positively to the group, enjoy gaming with others and help make Black Squad a community people want to remain part of.

The Community

Different Players. One Community.

01

Casual Gaming

Not everybody wants organised competition. Black Squad has always had room for people who simply want good company and a good game.

02

Competitive Play

Competition has been part of the clan since its earliest days, from friendly rivalry through to organised teams and WAR squads.

03

Technical Community

Server administration, coding, modding and technical projects have long been another part of the wider Black Squad community.

04

Long-Term Friendship

The clan has lasted because gaming became more than the games themselves. Many members built friendships that continued well beyond individual titles.

Real Life Comes First

A Community Built Around Real People

Black Squad has never existed in isolation from real life. Members have jobs, partners, families, children and responsibilities away from the screen. The community has always had to grow around those commitments rather than pretend they do not exist.

That balance is part of what has allowed the clan to survive different games, different stages of life and periods where activity naturally rose and fell. Members contribute what they can, when they can, while still helping the community move forward.

2017 → 2021

Four-Year Hiatus

Personal circumstances led to a four-year hiatus beginning in October 2017. Black Squad returned in 2021 with the intention of rebuilding the Clan & Community and learning from the experiences of the past.
